HAPPY CHALLAH DAYS!
ASSIGNMENT OVERVIEW: You will select a holiday of your choice and create a series of (04) COORDINATING REPEAT PATTERNS and (01) SPOT ILLUSTRATION / PLACEMENT GRAPHIC on this theme. You must have (01) HERO PATTERN and (03) SUPPORTING patterns. Each pattern must contain at least (05) unique motifs. You will present the collection on a sell sheet and create at least (01) product mock-up using the pattern or spot illustration of your choice from the collection.
Christmas (Secular or Religious Observation) / Lunar New Years / Halloween / CHANUKKAH or HANUKKAH / Diwali / Día de Muertos, etc.
For this project, I wanted to focus on a holiday that was important to me. Since I am not a Christian, I decided I would do my pattern on Chanukkah since I am Jewish and would be focusing a lot of the colour scheme and motifs off of the holiday as well as a little bit of a mish-mash of other important elements from Jewish traditions and holidays. Below, you will see my final pattern designs, the (12) individual motifs I rendered, as well as my process book that showcases my moodboard, initial thought process, colour palette, final mock-ups as well as the final sell sheet as well.
