LOYALTY. (FEAT. RIHANNA).

On "LOYALTY.", Kendrick and Rihanna muse on the value and necessity of complete loyalty and honesty in both platonic and romantic relationships. The song marks the first collaboration between the two artists.

The chorus interpolates Jay-Z's infamous Roc-A-Fella Records maxim from 2000's "Get Your Mind Right Mami", in a line that Kendrick previously references on "The Heart Part 02": while Rihanna alludes to ODB's "Shimmy Shimmy Ya" in verse 03.

In the outro, Rihanna references the struggle of staying humble within success, which may be a nod to the first single of this album, "HUMBLE."

A music video, directed by Dave Meyers, was released on July 28, 2017.

The song won a Grammy Award for the Best Rap / Sung Performance at the 2-18 Grammys held on January 28, 2018.
